SP Kamal Thapa cracks down on smugglers: Four arrested with more than 500,000 tobacco

More than Rs 500,000 worth of tobacco products smuggled from India have been recovered.

A joint police team deployed from District Police Office, Sunsari and Area Police Office, Itahari had seized a mini truck (Ko 1 Kha 6890) from Itahari Sub-Metropolis-5 Kalanki area on the basis of special information.

According to the Area Police Office, Itahari, 33 bags of tobacco products and 36 bags of military equipment were found hidden inside the truck.

The police have also arrested Kaiser Alam, 36, of Koshi Gaonpalika-5 and Syed Alam, 23, of Sundar Haraicha, Morang. Has stated.

The truck and the arrested persons have been handed over to Koshi Barrage Customs Office for necessary action after maintaining the market value of the seized tobacco products at Rs 516,000.
