Chief of the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, Deputy Inspector General of Police Bishwaraj Pokharel has inaugurated a musical dummy campaign for traffic awareness at the Metropolitan Traffic Police today. Respecting the senior artists, performers and social workers who helped in the musical dummy campaign for traffic awareness, Waha stressed on the need to identify the causes of traffic violations and find a permanent solution.
Senior artists Madakrishna Shrestha, Harivansh Acharya, director and artist Deepashree Niraula, artist Jitu Nepal and Hari Bahadur Kunwar, head of the urban management department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, also spoke on the occasion.
Chief of the Metropolitan Traffic Police, Bhim Prasad Dhakal, said that the work has been started with the objective of using dummy traffic police at various intersections in the Kathmandu Valley to enforce traffic rules, alert the citizens and minimize road accidents.
The program was attended by social engineers and social workers, Yangjong Sherpa, Radha Pokhrel, journalists and other people from different fields. The traffic police also performed a dance on traffic awareness. Dummy traffic police have been deployed at various places in the valley to increase traffic awareness.
